I am hoping to find a connection for Walter S. GOLDSBERRY.
He married 14 Dec 1902 at Union Co., Oregon, Nellie Amanda BROWN (b.
6 Dec1885 Bellevue, Alturas, Idaho; d. 5 Jun 1904 Park City, Utah,
Utah) daughter of Peter Henry BROWN (1847-1927) and Mary Elizabeth
HALL (1856-1947) Walter and Nellie had one daughter Pauline
GOLDSBERRY who was about 5 months old when her mother died.
I am hoping to find out what became of Pauline GOLDSBERRY and her
father Walter. Note: I have found a marriage record for a Walter
GOLDSBERRY to Marie ANDERSON in Union Co., Oregon 1 May 1905 (Vol. G
p. 465) Perhaps this would be the same Walter and a second marriage.
Sincerely, Charlotte Kibbie in Kent, Washington

I am currently attempting to find information about my Grandfather's
daughter from his first marriage. Her name is Blanche Luella RICE
and she married Albert L. LAMM on 23 Jul 1927, Union County Oregon.
Her Mother's name was Helen L. RICE (BUSZINO prior) and her Father's
name was Floyd William RICE. Any information you may be able to
provide me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Jan

I am researching the PHY family. John Phy appeared on the Polk Co.
census in 1870 and then the Union Co. census in 1880. I believe that
John M. Phy and his sister Mary L. Phy came from Missouri (perhaps
by way of Arkansas) and (according to BLM records) purchased land in
Union Co. in 1878, 1889, and 1904. John was the father of Frank Phy
(sheriff and county judge) and Dr. William T. Phy who operated the
Hot Lake Sanitarium. I would like to know more about John M. and
Mary L. Phy. I am interested in exchanging information with anyone
who knows about these people and their descendants.
Thank you, Daniela Moneta

I just found out some of my Davis-Harsin relatives were in Union
County in the late 1800's and early and mid-1900's. Towns associated
with them were Cove, Joseph, Enterprise.
The children married surnames of King, Peal,Boswell, Bates,
Hamilton, Cooper, Bradberry, Murray, Tippett, Kotz, Tippett,
Osterberg, Scanlon, and Waits.
My connection is through Elizabeth Matilda Davis (1843-1908) who
married James Martin Harsin (1838-1913).
I'd be happy to correspond with Harsin family members. Lois Willand

I am interested in the BARNES, BURDETT and HOFFMAN/HUFFMAN families
of Union Co., OR. I know Solomon Barnes lived in this county,
believe in Elgin. His sister, Lucinda Barnes married John Alexander
Hoffman and lived in Shaw and Erie, KS...they are buried in Shaw.
Solomon was a twin to Sarah who married a Fly and lived in
California. Solomon's niece and her husband, Cinith (Hoffman) and
James Clinton Burdett moved to Oregon after the birth of their
oldest son, Aaron Miller Burdett in 1888.
The next two children were born in Oregon...assuming Union Co. They
were Lucinda "Mae" Burdett b. 1889 and Edward Alexander Burdett b.
1891. Some of Cinith's Hoffman family spelled the last name Huffman.
It is believed a few of her half sisters and maybe a couple of her
brothers, also lived in Union Co. OR. Are there any of these
descendants (BARNES/HOFFMAN) still in this area? These Barnes were
from Jasper Co., MO and the children of John Edward Barnes and
Elizabeth Prewitt/Pruett. Please get in contact with me and thanks
in advance.

I came across the listing you had for the Hillcrest East Cemetery of
Union County, Oregon. I found a distantly related family member that
I never knew of and you have filled a bit more on my research into
the LaBine family. I really find it amazing to find Jean "Jack"
LaBine as he was born the Ottawa Valley about one hundred mile north
of Ottawa, Ontario. In other words Jack was about 2,600 miles away
from where he was born. I see in the information that you had a "?"
beside his mothers name and she was Olive Longpre. I will list the
information I have for him below as it might be of help to you. One
thing is that I did not know anything about him being married and I
was wondering if you might know if he was
married in that area. I would like to fill in as much as I can on
him.
Here is some information on the family:
Listed in the church records of LaPasse, Ontario, Canada:

surname "Guildé dit LaBine")
Born: 9 Aug 1869, LaPasse, Ontario
Baptized: 22 Sep 1869, LaPasse, Ontario son of Oliver LaBine & Olive

My name is James H Cummings and I have been trying to trace my
ancestors and I finally found my GGGrandfather I think. His name is
Joseph Cummings b.1843 wife Elizabeth b. 1842 , children ; Josiah
(my GGrandfather) b. 1867,Thomas J. b.1870 Martha M. b1876 and
Gardner or Gardin M. b.1878. I am not sure that these are my kin or
not but it looks good so far. This information came from the 1880
Census. Indian Valley ,Union county Oregon. If there is any one
there that has any info I would be very thankful if they would share
it with me. Or maybe some of his kin still live there, Josiah ended
up in Batesville Ark. That's where my family started , my
grandpa, dad and I were born there then dad moved to Ohio that's
where I am now. Thanks again and I hope this email finds all of you
well. Jim Cummings
