When the post office was established several names including Imnaha Park, and Grimes Creek were suggested, but postal authorities rejected them, mostly because of duplications. Finally the department of Postal G_____ and requested a name be selected that did not duplicate any other name in Oregon. A local resident F. T. Rich had lived in Fruita, Colorado and he suggested that name. |
