======================================================= Ernest C. Dalton (RSchnei577@aol.com, 03/21/97 11:40) To: bartom@columbia-center.org Dear Noel: I am trying to obtain some information regarding an Ernest C. Dalton who died at St. Helens 16 May, 1945. I obtained an obituary from the Oregon State Library since there apparently were no extant newspapers for that time period at the St. Helens Library who I had contacted earlier. According to the obituary he was from England, had taken a medical course at the old Williamette medical college, accepted an appointment in the Army and served in Alaska for 13 yrs. He settled back in St. Helen's at his country estate "GREY CLIFFS" for 25 yrs prior to his death. He was also a friend of governor Charles Martin (yrs.????). Question: Where would I locate information regarding his civic affairs, information reg Grey Cliffs, his wife and children? Biographies? ========================================================================== Tracking down... (Alexander Haväng dt95 , 03/22/97 23:50) To: bartom@columbia-center.org Hi, My name is Alexander Haväng and I'm from Sweden. I'm doing some research conserning my ancenstors. It turns out I'm related to a Ernest Wolfe, who I think might be a resident somewhere in the Columbia City neighbourhood. I can't seem to find any info about him though. According to my information, he is or at least was married (haven't got his wife's name). Would appreciate any kind of information, or a pointer to a suitable database. Yours sincerely, Alexander Haväng ============================================================ 23 Apr 1997 From: "Mark L. Sharinghousen" SHARINGHOUSEN, Henry, Sarah, William CREECY, Bennett FARRELL, Martha Sharinghousen There are several other children, but these are the immediates. Henry and Sarah Creecy married in Illinois in 1849. They came out on the Oregon Trail. Sarah's father Bennett followed in 1851 coming over the Elliott Cutoff. Their son, William, and AJ Creecy had a post office/store in about 1879. (I say about because I have seen different dates) The store burned and William went to Coos Bay, when and why I don't know. William's son, Lawrence, was born there. William divorced, I think, and went to Los Angeles, where he died. Lawrence went to Portland, where Laurence was born. He married, ?, then divorced. He later married Jean Eastin. They had a son, Mark, who is my husband. There's lots more in between, that's the Reader's Digest version.
