WENDT, HENRY: 1862 - He came around the Horn to San Francisco then to Auburn as a Boot Cobbler. He moved to Clark Creek. 1872, he settled at Bridgeport and began raising stock. The ranch has been in the family for a 100 year farm. Henry Wendt planted first potatoes in Burnt River Valley. His wife, Amelia had first garden at Clarksville.
