HOLCOMB, GIDEON He arrived in Baker County about 1852. James N. Holcomb son homesteaded in Eagle Valley 1872. He founded the town of New Bridge. Previously he fought with Sherman's Army. Also he was on the march to the sea. He had a very colorful life. Read more about him in "Baker, Malheur, Grant Co. History of Oregon." His living descendants in Baker County are:
