A quiet wedding occurred Sunday afternoon at 3:30 at the P.W. Humphreys home when
their daughter Merle was united in marriage to Herman Dessler. Only the immediate relatives
of the bride and groom witnessed the ceremony. Rev. H.E. Collison officiated. They will
reside in this city.

Miss Helen Haun and Wayne Doak, both of Enterprise, were united in marriage Sunday by
the Rev. H. Cullison and left on the afternoon train for Council, Idaho. Miss Haun is a daughter
of Ludwig Haun of the Three Lakes country.

Marriage At the residence of the bride's father,

W.H. Huffman, of Pyle canyon, on Monday, January 8, 1900, Miss M. Etta Huffman was
married to Mr. Jay H. Dobbin, of Joseph, Wallowa county. Rev. Henry C. Thomson of Union,
officiating. The wedding took place at noon, in the presence of the home circle, a few relatives
and friends, Mrs. Dobbin, aunt of the groom, Dr. and Mrs. Wein, Miss Etta Dobbin, sister of the
groom, Miss Lottie Peffley and W.H. McComas, and was conducted in the simple and impressive
form of ceremony adopted by the Presbyterian church, preceded by prayer. The groom is a popular
and well to do young man of Joseph, Wallowa county, and the bride is one of Union county's fairest
and most amiable young ladies. After the ceremony and customary congratulation, the assembled
group repaired to the dining room and partook of a magnificent wedding feast. The happy young
couple came down to the Centennial hotel in the evening and took their departure for their home in
Joseph on Tuesday morning, accompanied by Miss Etta Dobbin, with the good wishes of a host
of friends. - Scout. The bride attended school in Cove a year ago this winter and has the best wishes
of numerous friends and acquaintances here.

Mr. Joseph Driskell and Miss Jessie Matthews were united in marriage by Rev. F.S. Sibley
at the parsonage on Monday afternoon, June 16th, 1919. Mr. Driskell has just recently
returned from overseas service.

 Agnes Johnson Is
Married Saturday

The wedding of Miss Agnes Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.F. Johnson, of Enterprise
and William G. Dunn of St. Johns, Portland, was solemnized Saturday morning, Nov. 19, 1938
at 10:00 o'clock at the Pioneer Methodist church in St. Johns, with Rev. Newland
performing the ceremony.

The bride wore a wedding dress of lilac crepe with silver accessories and a corsage of gardenia.
For going away she wore a blue suit with black accessories. Her only attendant was Dorothy
Wilson of Enterprise.

For the past three years Mrs. Dunn has been working in Portland.

Dr. R.L. Bean of Hillsboro acted as best man for the groom.

Immediately following the ceremony coffee was served at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lester
Thompson, after which the young couple left for a honeymoon trip to the coast. They will be at
home at 8635 No. Senaca, St. Johns, after December first.

Mrs. C.F. Johnson, mother of the bride, Mrs. Levi Swayze of Athena and Mrs. Helen Gowing
of Joseph were among the few relatives and friends present for the wedding. Mrs. Johnson
returned to her home here Tuesday morning.
